The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was named one of the 10 Best Family Cars of 2013 by Parents magazine and Edmunds, a top online resource for car shopping. The recently-redesigned Pathfinder is recognized for its balance of style, affordability, safety and technology.
Car experts from both organizations examined hundreds of vehicles before narrowing it to a list of 10 for 2013. Fuel-efficient technology, next-generation dashboards and overall safety were cited as impressive features among the vehicles making this year's exclusive list. Pathfinder is one of two vehicles named in the SUV category.
Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan North America said: "This next-generation version of one of our most iconic nameplates combines the capability of an SUV with the comfort and roominess of a sedan in order to satisfy the entire family. Enhanced technology and styling upgrades make this Nissan's most innovative Pathfinder ever. The market continues to show its excitement for this vehicle with year-to-date sales up over 180 percent, and Nissan is honored for it to be included among the 10 Best Family Cars of 2013."
The 2013 Pathfinder combines comfort and utility with a more refined unibody construction providing a civilized ride yet maintaining capability, with best-in-class standard towing capacity of 5000 lbs and ALL-MODE 4x4-i 4WD system. The Pathfinder offers the right level of enjoyment and engagement to meet the real-world needs of the modern family. Thoughtful technology is found throughout the Pathfinder interior, including Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display in the center of the instrument cluster right in front of the driver and available segment-exclusive convenience technology Around View® Monitor with "bird's eye" view.
The all-new fourth-generation Pathfinder seats up to seven passengers and boasts best-in-class highway fuel economy of 26 mpg, best-in-class passenger volume, best-in-class front headroom and legroom and class-exclusive reclining third row seats*. The Nissan EZ FlexTM Seating System allows the second row to move forward or backward up to 5.5 inches for easy access to the back row. LATCH AND GLIDETM provides forward movement and access to the 3rd row with a child safety seat remaining securely in place (on the passenger curb side). When carrying seven passengers, the Pathfinder still accommodates up to 16 cubic feet of cargo.
This most recent honor adds to the rapidly expanding list of accolades for the 2013 Pathfinder, which has previously been awarded MotorWeek's "Best Large Utility," Popular Mechanics' "Most Versatile" vehicle in its 2013 Automotive Excellence Awards, one of WardsAuto World's "Ward's 10 Best Interiors" for 2013 and the top ranking in Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com 10 Best Family Cars of 2013.
"The Best Family Cars of 2013" appears in the July issue of Parents magazine, and is on newsstands June 11th.
