Today, Nissan presented for the first time in Canada, the all-new Nissan NV200 compact cargo van at the 2013 Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS). The third addition to Nissan's commercial vehicle lineup in Canada boasts several segment-leading features including: best-in-class fuel economy of 8.7 L/100 km city, 7.1 L/100 km highway, best-in-class turning radius for manoeuvering in tight city spaces, and other accommodating features such as Tire Pressure Monitoring System, low clearance height for easy indoor parking, and a conveniently low loading height.
The NV200 is the third commercial vehicle offering from Nissan following the full-size Nissan NV Cargo, introduced in Canada in March 2011, and the full-size Nissan NV Passenger Van which launched in April 2012. Like its cohorts, the NV200 offers some of the best examples of innovation in its segment - drawing on Nissan's 75-year experience with commercial vehicles. The Nissan NV200 provides a new entry point for current cargo van and small pickup buyers looking for a compact, efficient alternative to their larger, less fuel-efficient vehicles.
"This is a very exciting time for Nissan as we are in the midst of our strongest product offensive to date with five new models in 15 months." said Christian Meunier, President, Nissan Canada Inc. "The NV200 provides small business owners with what they need most: thoughtful technology, best-in-class fuel economy, comfort, manoeuvrability and functional design at an affordable price. We look forward to announcing pricing in February and welcoming it to our 44 certified NV dealers across Canada this spring."
While new to North America, the Nissan NV200 compact van is already in use in more than 40 countries around the world, receiving acclaim from both users and media alike for its optimal functionality and smart design. Having won the 2010 International Van of the Year award in Europe, and the 2010 Commercial Delivery Van (CDV) of the Year in China, NV200 has also established a presence as the strong segment leader in Japan with a wide-ranging lineup. NV200 was chosen as the exclusive New York City 'Taxi of Tomorrow' and is the latest example of Nissan's exciting global vision for the private hire industry.
